WebOct 13, 2024 · The only 'true' breech-seating I ever witnessed was done by seating the cast boolit with a seating tool, then inserting a charged case behind it and closing the action. I assumed the tool set the boolit properly and the unsized case mouth was able to slip over the base of the boolit. WebJul 3, 2014 · Before anybody orders this mold please understand that this bullet is TOO LONG TO BE STABILIZED IN THE 14” TWIST common in most 22 center fires. If it fits the rifle properly it should shoot groups at least as small as the 1.24” groups mentioned above in a good rifle. But it will take a 10.5” inch or tighter twist to stabilize.

It's actually most commonly used with grease grooved bullets. Only a few oddballs (like me) do it with PP bullets. The base of the bullet is a .002 over groove diameter tapering in steps to bore diameter. The bullet is seated a 16th or so ahead of the case with a breech seater then fired with a loaded case.
WebJun 23, 2024 · To crimp gas checks onto your bullets on the APP Press using the Lee Breech Lock Bullet Sizing Kit and appropriate Lee Sizer & Punch Kit, first lubricate the bullets with Liquid Alox. Before the bullets move from the feed tube to the Sizing Die and Punch, push a gas check on the base of the bullet. My solution there was two fold- first, to put a .338 expander in the die set with a few thousandths polished off, second to seat in a .348 winchester seater; though the neck isn't supported ...
WebSep 20, 2024 · the bullet. All the info on BP and seating the bullet on the powder say that ain't good. My rifle is taper throated so it has to be breach seated. It also has a Douglas barrel and can use smokeless powder. The foam is no problem there. The fouling does clean up easily if I do as Longhunter does. Clean after every shot.

Set the rifle, decap/recap the brass, throw the charge (a fullish case of Trail Boss would be ideal) and top with the precut card to hold the powder in. Bring the rifle up, drop in a bullet, push it in place and follow with the case. The only bullet that doesn't have a driving band and groove is the paper patched. They have not been used in matches for over 125 years. There is a reason for that, bigger groups. rad mini bike forum
